Seoul will host “Seoul Smart Life Week” on Oct. 7-9 as part of the city’s plans to build an international platform to promote companies with innovative technologies and lead future technology trends.

During the 2024 Seoul Innovation Forum in Las Vegas on Tuesday, Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon announced that the city government has built a three-year plan to host a global business event to share advanced technologies by securing sales and investment of innovative companies based in Seoul.

Through Seoul Smart Life Week, the Seoul Metropolitan Government plans to present the latest technologies that work alongside current lifestyle trends to city government officials and company leaders globally. By hosting other smart city-related events at the same time, the city government hopes to make "Seoul Smart Life Week" a leading international event in Asia that is comparable to the CES.

This year, the event will present companies that are developing smart city technology within the fields of welfare, tourism, safety and public complaints to demonstrate how Seoul has utilized AI-based technology to transform into a smart city.

From 2025, the scale of "Seoul Smart Life Week" will be doubled and further developed into an event where city leaders from around the world can share their smart city status and technologies.
