KT provides AI solutions for Ambassador Hotel Group

South Korea’s KT will provide its artificial intelligence solutions for Ambassador Hotel Group, helping the global hotel chain to provide AI-based services, the company said Thursday.

The Korean mobile carrier and the hotel group signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate on building hotels with AI services in the country, starting with Novotel Ambassador Seoul Dongdaemun & Residences that is slated for opening in July.

Under the memorandum, the two companies are planning to connect the hotel’s AI concierge services with KT’s voice-activated GiGA Genie speaker.

Ambassador has been preparing to apply voice recognition and assistance solutions to the control of lights, heating and air conditioning systems, alarms and other concierge services for customers.

KT plans to further expand installation of its GiGA Genie speakers across hotels under the Ambassador group, which operates a total of 23 hotels in six cities nationwide.
