Taxi drives into Incheon Airport parking lot container

A taxi driver was injured after his car collided with a storage container at Incheon Airport’s Terminal 1 parking lot in Unseo-dong, Incheon, at 4:52 a.m. Sunday.

The 68-year-old taxi driver is being treated for neck and back injuries due to the accident, authorities said.

No other casualties were reported as the container, which was being used as a changing room for airport employees, was empty at the time of accident.

According to police, the driver claimed to have “fallen asleep at the wheel for a brief second, causing the collision.”

Police said they initially suspected him of drunk driving, but did not find any evidence from surveillance footage.
