Samsung Electronics chairman Lee Kun-hee met with Patrick Baumann, a Swiss International Olympic Committee member, at his residence in Hannam-dong, central Seoul, on Wednesday, said Samsung Group officials.

They shared opinions on the direction for future development involving international sports events such as the Olympics in the meeting, the officials said.

Baumann, secretary general of the global basketball organization FIBA, is an expert in the international sports community who became a member of the IOC’s Evaluation Commission for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He was also appointed to the IOC’s Coordination Commission for the 2012 London Olympics.

He was elected as an IOC member in 2007.

Meanwhile, Samsung is involved in sports marketing activities at the basketball games organized by FIBA.
