Man convicted of molesting disabled teenager

A district court sentenced a 54-year-old man to five years behind bars for sexually assaulting a disabled minor on Monday.

The man, identified by his surname Um, enticed the 16-year-old girl who is grade 2 mentally disabled into his Ulsan home and molested her. The two met in an online chat room last year.

Ulsan District Court also ordered him to undergo a 200-hour a compulsory therapy program and have his name and personal information released to the public for 10 years.

50대男,  채팅으로 지적장애인 유인해 성폭행  

울산지법 제3형사부(재판장 성금석 부장판사)는 특정범죄가중처벌 등에 관한 법률위반(영리약취 유인 등) 등의 혐의로 기소된 엄모(54)씨에게 징역 5년을 선고했다고 29일 밝혔다.

또 엄씨의 신상정보를 10년간 공개하고 같은 기간 위치추적 전자장치인 전자발찌를 차도록 명령했다.

재판부는 이와 함께 보호관찰소에서 실시하는 성폭력 치료프로그램 200시간을 이수할 것을 명령했다.

엄씨는 2011년 인터넷 채팅으로 만난 지적장애 2급 장애인 김모(16)양을 울산으로 오도록 유인한 뒤 자신의 집에서 성폭행한 혐의를 받고 있다.

재판부는 판결문에서 "피해자가 느꼈을 정신적 충격, 고통, 공포심과, 성적 수치심 등이 매우 컸을 것으로 보이는 점 등을 고려했다"고 양형 이유를 밝혔다.
