Mountain Child is holding a fund-raising hike at Suwon’s Gwanggyosan on Saturday.

Supporters will pay 25,000 won for the chance to hike together to support the charity’s first school in the Himalayas as part of its “5 for 5” hiking campaign.

“The school opened this year and is already full of students who have never been to school before and are eager to learn,” said hike organizer Sunny Kang.

“The school needs many more supplies and provisions so with this hiking campaign we will have the opportunity to provide for those needs.”

The hike will start at 9 a.m. at Gwangyo Park in Suwon, which can be reached via green buses 13 and 13-3. A light lunch will also be provided, and those who do not want to hike are welcome to come to help and speak to organizers.
